Know Before You Go - FREE ULTRASOUND BEFORE ABORTION

Our licensed medical clinics offer limited obstetric ultrasounds free of charge to confirm a viable pregnancy and educate you about your options. The abortion method available to you depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy. We do not provide abortion services or the abortion pill, but we can determine how far along you are and explain the different methods of abortion.

Can You Take the Abortion Pill?

Before taking the abortion pill, you need to know exactly how far along you are.(1) The abortion pill is only FDA-approved for use up to 70 days (10 weeks pregnant) after the start of your last menstrual period.(2) We can help you learn more about your pregnancy and whether the abortion pill is an option for you.

Is Your Pregnancy Located in the Uterus?

If the pregnancy is ectopic (progressing in the wrong part of your body), you will require immediate medical treatment.(3)

Is Your Pregnancy Viable?

About 10 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, but the actual number is likely higher because many miscarriages occur very early in pregnancy.(4)

What abortion procedure is available to you?

If you can’t have a medical abortion, a surgical procedure called a dilation and curettage (D&C) may be an option. An ultrasound will help determine the type of abortion procedure(s) available to you, allowing you to have the information needed when calling abortion providers.
